Could the cost of tickets affect the amount of people heading to Oxegen?
Hey again! I thought it would be interesting to see if there would be more or less people going to Oxegen this year than the last few previous years so I did a bit of research. In 2004 and 2005, a one-day tickets cost €59.50, two-day tickets were €110.00 and a two-day two-day camping cost €130.00. In 2006 when the ticktes went on sale to the general public, the weekend camping tickets were priced at €160. These tickets sold out in appromiximately 48 minutes so people were definitely keen on going to Oxegen that year. By 2007, the price of a day ticket rose to €96.50, a weekend ticket cost €177.50, and the price of a weekend camping ticket rose to €197.50! I think this was because the acts were getting better. 2008 tickets went on sale on Friday March 7, but failed to sell out until May 7! This means that less people were keen to buy Oxegen tickets. The prices are now still the same since 2008 but bigger and more well known acts are being annouced since then so I don't think the rise in cost of Oxegen tickets has affected the population of people going to Oxegen! Hopefully there will be more this year by looking at the Line-up! :D x
